The raids also led to the seizure of green pigment weighing 8 kg and 9.4 kg of yellow pigment. The firm was also found packing chilli powder under the brand Super 7 Days Red Chillies. The coriander powder was being packed under the name Hindava and the packets claimed that the packaging had been done at Gujarat Agro Industries Market yard at Unjha (Mehsana), which according to the officials is a fake claim.

The firm had put on fake names and addresses on the chilli and coriander powder packets too, the officials said. Sources in the Food and Drug Control Administration said that the firm was run by one Jain Dilipkumar Pokhrajbhai.

Koshiya said, “We have seized the adulterated stock. Our teams are working on such firms that manufacture and sell such adulterated items and are taking strict legal action against them. The seized items will be tested in the laboratory and on the basis of its report, strict legal actions will be taken against the firm owner.”
