Pune Zilla Parishad school ranks top in ‘My School, Beautiful School’ campaign

As per a government decision, dated July 26, 2024, the campaign was implemented again in the year 2024-25 under the Dr Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School Yojana.

The Zilla Parishad school of Dhanore in Pune division has secured 1st place state level in the category of government schools in the second edition of the ‘Chief Minister My School, Beautiful School’ campaign launched by the state government last year. It is the only school from Pune division to feature in the top three winners from both government and private school categories.

As per a government decision, dated July 26, 2024, the campaign was implemented again in the year 2024-25 under the Dr Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School Yojana.

The division level winners in Pune under the category of private schools, are Guruvarya R P Sabnis Vidyamandir, Narayangaon, which secured the first rank, Savitribai Phule Madhyamik, Uccha madhyamik, Vidyalay, of Ahmednagar, which secured second and Maharashtra Secondary and Higher secondary vidyalaya, Barshi, Solapur which secured the third rank.

In the government school categories under Pune division— ZP School, Sanvstar from Ahmedanagar secured first rank; ZPPS Shelkewadi Shivane in Solapur was second; and ZPPS Koyali Punarvasan from Pune secured third place.

This phase two of the campaign was carried out in schools between August 5 to September 6, 2024. Around 1.91 crore students and about 6.6 lakh teachers took part in several activities of this campaign. Various competitive activities of a total 150 marks were determined based on key factors of infrastructure, government policy implementation and educational achievement.

Accordingly, schools were evaluated by committees at each level and in the second phase of this campaign. Deepak Kesarkar, cabinet minister – Maharashtra (School Education and Marathi Language) who announced the winners congratulated them on their good work.

A total of Rs 31 lakh and Rs 21 lakh will be awarded to the schools at state level that ranked second and third respectively. At the divisional level, Rs 21 lakh, Rs 15 lakh and Rs 11 lakh will be given to the schools that rank first, second and third respectively. At the district level, the schools that rank first, second and third will get a prize of Rs 11 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively. Similarly, at the taluka level, prizes of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh will be given to schools that rank first, second and third respectively.

Kesarkar announced an amount of Rs 51 lakh to be given to Dhanore’s Zilla Parishad Primary School in Pune district which ranked top at the state level from the government group, and to Prabhat Kids School, Somthana in Akola from the private school group.
