One more Zika case found in Pune, total of 19
According to Dr Rajesh Dighe, Assistant Chief Medical Officer, PMC, the man was admitted to Noble Hospital with symptoms like diarrhoea, vomiting, and fever. Dr Dighe said he was a patient of food poisoning and septicemia.
He underwent some blood tests where authorities incidentally found that he was infected with Zika virus infection. The patient is under observation at the hospital, Dr Dighe said. (File/ Representational) The Pune Municipal Corporation has reported one more case of Zika virus infection in a 61-year-old man from Mundhwa (Hadapsar). The count of cases has increased to a total of 19 in the city.

As per PMC data from June 21 to date, at least 495 homes had mosquito breeding sites across areas like Erandwane, Mundhwa, Dahanukar Colony, Ambegaon Bk, Kharadi, and Kalas.
