As the older generation hesitates from voting, the new generation is moving forth and teaching a them lesson about fulfilling their responsibilities. Here are some opinions of students casting their vote for the first time

Ankeet Shah,

It feels good to vote for the first time. It gives me an opportunity to vote for the right candidate, who can be a part of the government. Every vote matters. Politicians should be louder than silent, and good in talking and taking action. They should focus on poverty, unemployment and keep India shining. They should focus on the villages. Leaders should be multi-directional and should be there when people need them. Youngsters should come up and experienced ones should guide them. Older politicians should be in the parliament to guide younger leaders. The people who have not registered for voting should realise that when they do this, they have no right to criticise politicians.

I am confused and in a fix about whom to vote. Leaders should not have a criminal background as they represent the common people. Politicians should follow a certain code of conduct and should be well mannered. They should not misbehave in the Parliament as it happens these days. I think middle-aged politicians should be elected to the Parliament,as they have the experience and they can make for a better government. The good things should come forward with a flux and be in the majority. Leaders should not get elected on the criterion of caste or family background. They should be good in character, and interact with people so that they can understand their problems.

We should realise that our vote can help elect a better government. Young people should come up and fulfil this duty and older politicians should support them. Leaders shouldn’t be selfish; instead of wasting their time in thinking, they should work, which would lead to our country progressing faster. Politicians should take care of our basic needs,be able to provide proper food, and education in every part.

Anushri Sarda,

It feels good, more responsible and I am pretty excited to vote. I wanted to vote for the one who tries to make our country develop overally and tries getting global recognition. I think someone who belongs to the younger generation will be the best option because he is likely to be more talented, have fresh thinking with better and newer ideas. The people who contest should atleat be uncoorrupted one and youngsters should realise how shameful it is to run away from this fundamental responsibility.

Being able to vote is a privilege. With one vote,we can make a difference. Politicians should strive to increase literacy rates, especially among women and in the rural areas. They should also make efforts to boost economic growth. I would urge all those who are eligible for voting to register themselves and go ahead and vote for deserving leaders. Politicians should not be greedy and should be interested in serving the country. I feel youngsters can make good leaders.
