Youth dies in accident,bike found a km away

An unidentified vehicle knocked down a motorcyclist in front of the SSPMS College on RBM Road in the early hours of Monday.

An unidentified vehicle knocked down a motorcyclist in front of the SSPMS College on RBM Road in the early hours of Monday. The 21-year-old rider Amol Haribhau Kulkarni was found dead at the spot,while his motorcycle was found near Sangam Bridge,which is about a kilometre away from the accident scene.

The Bund Garden police have lodged a complaint against the driver of the unidentified vehicle that knocked down Kulkarni and dragged his bike till Sangam Bridge.

Police said that Kulkarni was a native of Beed district. He shifted to Pune for job. He was working in a private company in Pune and resided at Wadgaonsheri. Primary investigation revealed that Kulkarni dropped his friend around 2.30 am and was returning home when the accident took place

In another incident,a truck ran over 24-year-old pedestrian Laxmikant Maharana under the near Pashankar garage on Mumbai-Bangalore highway in Pashan around 6.30 pm on Saturday. Maharana was a native of Orissa. He was working at a construction site in Pashan. After finishing the work on Saturday he was walking home with his cousin Chandrakant Nayak when a speeding truck dashed him.
