Writer gets police cover after threats to his life

Renowned writer and poet Dr Sadanand More has been provided police security following complaint of threats from unidentified persons. Unidentified persons had recently made threats over More’s cellphone to kill him for his remarks about Sardar Vallabhai Patel and BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi on a news channel.

More had then complaint to the Pune Police Commissioner. More lives in the jurisdiction of Deccan Gymkhana police station in the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police (special branch) M B Tambade confirmed that security has been provided to More. Police sources said there are instructions to increase patrolling around his residence.
