Woman killed, two grandkids injured in accident, techie rider booked

The accident took place in front of Bird Valley Park in Chinchwad around 7.30 pm December 16. The grandmother and two grandkids were walking and were on their way home after some work.

“While they were crossing the road, two hit them. The biker identified as Padmanabhan Aiyer, 52, who was riding the bike took the injured to a nearby hospital. The woman was pronounced dead by the doctors at the hospital. The two children are out of danger and their injuries are minor.” said an officer from Nigdi police station.

The officer added, “The bike rider Padmanabhan Aiyer is a computer engineer. We have booked him on the charges of rash driving causing death by negligence and under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.”
