Pune police crime branch on Wednesday arrested a woman in connection with a theft in Kalyani Nagar area. Suspect,Usha Ashok Pardeshi alias Usha Adagale (22) of Yeshwant Nagar,Yerawada was arrested by a team led by inspector Arun Walture. Usha was arrested at a jewellery shop in Yerawada on Wednesday.

Police said Usha was a historysheeter and had come to the shop to sell jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh stolen from an apartment in Akashdoot housing society in Kalyani Nagar on June 10.

“Usha has been on police record for involvement in two house break-ins before. Jewellery worth Rs 2,04,628 has been recovered from her possession,” said additional commissioner of police (crime) A D Shinde.

Police said Usha’s husband Ashok Pardeshi also named in a few burglary cases but he was not involved in the Kalyani Nagar theft. The investigation team comprised inspector Walture,Sunil Bhosale,constables Akil Shaikh,Ashok Patole,Sunil Kadambande,Sambhaji Wagh,Dinesh Shinde,Mohan Dongre,Jaywant Jagtap,Dnyaneshwar Bharati,Arjun Bhambure,Mahesh Pawar,Umesh Shirke.
