Tension prevailed in Sassoon hospital mortuary on Thursday evening,when the family members of 28-year-old Monica Vinod Kudge,who allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Wadgaon Dhayari,refused to accept her body till the police arrested her husband and booked her in-laws.

The family members alleged that Monica committed suicide due to the harassment by her husband and in-laws.

The Haveli police then arrested Monica’s husband Vinod Kudge (30) and booked her in-laws Kavita Kudge,Chandan Kudge and Savita Kudge under section 498 and 306 (Abetment of suicide) of Indian Penal Code.

According to Haveli police,Monica hanged herself at her residence in Wadgaon Dhayari around 8.30 am on Thursday. The police said that Monica got married to Vinod,an interior designer,four years ago and they have a three-year-old son.

They said that Vinod had lodged a complaint against Monica in June this year. The police then issued summons to both of them.

The police suspect that dispute between the couple would have worsened due to which Monica committed suicide.
