What a Ride

Suzana Mukherjee, who was a part of Roadies 6,talks of the incredible journey the reality show took her on

I find it weird and am left baffled when children come to me asking for an autograph and then all I write is something like say no to drugs, otherwise life hasn’t changed much.” This is how city girl Suzana Mukherjee describes the after-effects of Roadies. Having seen, done and experienced weird things on the reality show Roadies 6,Mukherjee who was recently voted out is on a prolonged hangover.

For Suzana who had been pursuing her MBA from IIPM in the city the entry into the show was an unplanned one. “Although I have been an intense viewer of Roadies, becoming one was merely an accident. After the Mumbai and Delhi auditions were cancelled,my friends came down here and I was pulled into filling the forms and eventually,I was the only one to get a call back,” she says adding that it took her a week to explain the show to her father and to convince him about letting her participate.

Often linked to Samrat, another contestant on the show Suzana calls him a true friend. “He is a very sensible guy. Everyone was there for a reason, some one wanted to become a model, other a VJ. I was there for the experience so I never tried to over socialise and steal attention. Also, one of the main reasons I stayed aloof was because I found them very immature and often discussing stupid stuff. Adjusting with the girls was yet another difficult thing since I have mostly stayed alone otherwise. And there was a serious want of sleep as we hardly slept for four to five hours and the crew lesser than those so hats off to them,” adds Suzana, also admitting that the roller coaster ride was full of pressure and fear.

With the cameras perpetually on,it was impossible to hide your true self says Suzana she adding “Its a true reality show and I feel whatever is aired has a glimpse of everything that goes on in bits. It was an overall good experience replete with creative tasks and adventures. One gets to know where he or she stands and I have started liking myself more now. Although I felt bad when I was voted out since it was just before we were leaving for Australia but I partied with friends for five continuous days after the elimination and got over it. I am biased towards Samrat when it comes to winning but Rannvijay is a heartthrob and none of the Roadies are even close to him. We had a big time crush on him,” she grins.

As she continues to shoot for the show post elimination the priority is finishing the studies first. “Once I am done with MBA,I’ll probably shift from here but the future journey is yet to be planned,” adds she. For this Roadie the journey has just begun.
