Water levels in dams rise to 14.35 TMC

As on Thursday,the water level of all the four dams supplying water to Pune city rose to 14.35 TMC.

As on Thursday,the water level of all the four dams supplying water to Pune city rose to 14.35 TMC.

The overall storage percentage has risen to 51.76 per cent of the total capacity of all the four dams.

The Khadakwasla dam continues to release water through the irrigation canal at the rate of 1,100 cusecs; while the discharge levels through the gateways have been reduced to 6,540 cusecs.

The percentage of storage at Khadakwasla is 95 per cent,at Panshet it is 50 per cent,at Varasgaon it is 43 per cent,at Temghar it is 66 per cent of the storage levels. However,the rainfall at Khadakwasla was 6 mm,at Panshet was 40 mm,at Varasgaon was 39 mm.

While there is sufficient drinking water for the city,the rain needs to continue for the dams to fill up for sufficient availability for irrigation.
