Vist any of the civic offices like Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters,ward offices,department offices and get on-the-spot access to any information under the Right to Information Act (RTI) completely free-of-cost.
The Pune Municipal Corporations initiative to make information under RTI accessible to public every Monday afternoon would begin from tomorrow wherein citizens would be allowed to go through the documents.
The citizens can approach the headquarters and 14 ward officers with an RTI application between 3 pm and 5 pm. Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Zagade had recently briefed the civic staff on how to carry out the initiative. He directed the employees to reduce the number of pending applications by taking necessary steps.
To give a push to the RTI implementation,the state government has urged all civic bodies to prepare a bibliography of its documents and files. However,not at the cost of routine office work. The state has directed the civic chiefs to take stringent action against the officers who fail to put up display boards giving details of Information officer and appellate authority in every office and any negligence should be mentioned in the confidential report of the concerned officer.

All government offices have been asked to submit the detailed report on implementation of RTI in their office by September 15.
