Students pursuing graduation and post-graduation in engineering from various colleges affiliated to University of Pune (UoP) will now be able to do a six-month placement-oriented certificate course in embedded robotics.
The course, which starts from August 16,will be conducted at the UoPs instrumentation science department, which has launched the course in association with Oasis Education,a division of Pune-based IT firm Oasis Technologies.
Students with bachelors or masters degree in electronics, electronics and telecommunications, instrumentation, computer, information technology and electrical engineering are eligible for the course. Students who have cleared their masters in instrumentation science, electronics, electronics science, computer science, vocational electronics, computer application or an equivalent course are also eligible for the course.
The entrance test and interviews for admissions to the course will be conducted on August 4. Students can download application form and brochure from the site http://www.disc.unipune.ac.in/embeddedrobotics.htm.
There is considerable demand for skilled professionals in the field of robotics and automation and it will only grow in future, said Pandit Vidyasagar, head of UoPs department of instrumentation science.
The course will cover the basics of robotics, embedded systems and advanced concepts in building embedded robotic control system. Students will be taught C programming fundamentals, robotic fundamentals and electromechanical system, robot motion planning computational geometry,32-bit ARM programming concepts that are used in most commercial robots.
