The University of Pune on Wednesday inaugurated the students facilitation centre on campus. This programme will dole out documents of the existing students and the alumni within a limited time frame, eliminating the need to make several trips to the varsity.

Equipped with state-of-the-art queue management system and online inward system, the centre is located right next to the main gate of the UoP. The old residential quarter of the UoP public relations officer has been converted into the facilitation centre which will also have a bank counter,a photocopying outlet,an internet cafe and other facilities. A separate parking space will also be available soon for visitors.

The centre will accept application forms for rank certificates, special degree certificates and other special certificates. While all these forms can be submitted online, the ones that require hardcopies can be submitted here. Migration, scholarship and other certificates and forms given out at the Board of College and University Development (BCUD) office will also be facilitated here.

ML Jadhav, registrar,UoP,said,“The centre will be run by seven non-teaching staffs of the university. Apart from the above facilities,we have even arranged for a gazetted officer for those students who need to get documents attested for various examinations. The move will ensure meeting of deadlines and students do not need to walk 1.5km up to the main building, thus reducing the traffic inside the campus.” He further added that a bank counter will be operational soon from the centre.

“A receipt with the date of collection of the form will be generated upon submission of the form. The confirmation of the submission of forms will be made through an SMS service,” said Praful Pawar,in-charge,students facilitation centre.
