The University of Pune on Monday declared the agenda to be discussed at the senate meeting on March 23.
Once again,as per the questions on the agenda, the examination department is likely to be in the eye of the storm at the meeting. After irregularities in the exam section and protests from various quarters,Controller of Examination Samapada Joshi has been on a medical leave, which some say is a forced leave.
One of the members has asked questions related to discrepancies in 3,890 marksheets and what all steps the university has taken to ensure smooth functioning hence forth. Another question is related to the universitys decision to impose credit system in post graduate courses from next year. The credit system apparently will not be imposed on external students.
Questions have also been raised on the delay in declaring the results with 11 faculties having faced problems in declaring the results on time. The problem of unavailability of accredited teachers for paper checking will also be discussed.
Also are questions related to the number of new courses and number of courses being shut down the next year. As many as 197 proposals for new courses or divisions have come up while 37 courses will be shut down. Once again the issue of implementation of 6th pay commission in various colleges in Pune,Ahmednagar and Nashik district that are affiliated to UoP will be raised.
