TWO local trains between Pune and Lonavala will remain cancelled for the entire month of November as the Central Railway (CR) has taken up work related to engineering, signal system and over-head electricity supply system.
The Central Railway administration said the two local services — 99818 Pune-Lonavala, which departs from Pune railway station at 1 pm and 99813 Lonavala-Pune, which departs from Lonavala at 3 pm — will not ply between November 1 and November 30.
“It’s imperative that these important maintenance works are undertaken at this point to ensure a safe journey for our patrons. Hence, we have decided to undertake the work that will affect these two services until the end of November,” said Manoj Jhawar, PRO, Pune Division.
New FOB at Talegaon
The Pune Division of Indian Railways has opened a new foot over bridge (FOB) connecting platforms at Talegaon railway station for public. The bridge is 79 metre long and six metre wide and will be able to meet the growing traffic demand at the station.
Nanded special train to resume soon
The Central Railway has decided to resume the services of Panvel to Nanded special train 07617/07618, which was stopped after railway lines were damaged due to heavy rain in Ghat areas last month.
According to officials, the train will resume, however, until November 24, it will originate from Pune (instead of Panvel) and run till Nanded.
