A traffic constable was injured when a speeding biker rammed into him,as he tried to stop him during a routine check-up at Alaka Talkies Chowk early on Sunday. The biker fled from the scene. The injured constable,identified as Himmat Anandrao Chandgude (51) of Swargate traffic division,has registered a complaint. Vishrambaug police said given the increasing incidents of chain snatching in the city,they had put up barricades in front of Regal restaurant as part of routine check-up.
Sub inspector S A Hatkar of Vishrambaug police station said,”Chandgude sustained injuries on his leg,face and nose. One of his leg bones got fractured. He is under treatment at a hospital. The biker is yet to be identified,as it was dark. The registration number number was also not visible. We have launched a search operation to nab him.”
