Traffic changes in places for Pune as civic polls near finish line

For the Vimantal Division, the road behind Phoenix Mall and the road connecting the Maruti Showroom to Solitaire building will be closed. The traffic will be diverted via Shrikrushna Hotel Chowk and Datta Mandir Chowk.

For Koregaon Park Traffic Division: Traffic from North Main Road to Water Supply Centre will be stopped and diverted via Koregaon Park Junction and ABC Farm. Mahatma Gandhi Chowk to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Chowk will be stopped and also diverted via Koregaon Park Junction and ABC Farm.

Pune CITY traffic police on Tuesday notified road closures and traffic changes that will be in place for civic polls from January 14 to 16 — for distribution of polling kits on January 14, polling on January 15 and counting on January 16. These changes will be in place primarily in Vimantal, Vishrambag, Dattawadi, Hadapsar, Samarth and Koregaon.

A notification in this regard was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav on Tuesday evening. These changes will be in force from 6 am till 7 pm. Government vehicles on polling duty and emergency response vehicles will be exempt from the restrictions.

Vishrambag Division: The traffic from Puram Chowk to Tilak Road will be stopped and will be diverted via Bajirao Road. Traffic from Alka Talkies Chowk to Puram Chowk via Tilak Road will be stopped and will be diverted via Senadatt Chowk and Dandekar Bridge.

Dattawadi Division: Traffic from Bajirao Road to NS Phadke Chowk will be stopped and diverted via Appa Balwant Chowk or Puram Chowk. Traffic from Sarasbaug Khau Galli to Thorle Madhavrao Peshwa Road will be stopped and will also be diverted via Appa Balwant Chowk or Puram Chowk.

Hadapsar Division: Road from Shiv Sena Chowk to Sane Guruji School will be closed. The traffic will be diverted via Hadapsar Ves and DP Road.

Samarth Traffic Division: Closed Roads will be Power House to Banerjee Chowk, Sant Kabir Chowk to Quarter Gate Chowk and Ramoshi Gate to Old Motor Stand. The traffic from all these roads will be diverted via the Shantai Hotel, Bahubali Chowk and Seven Loves Chowk.
