Toppers look ahead

For these students,their school life could not have ended on a better note. With the Central Board of Secondary Education declaring results for Class XII,city schools reverberated with the euphoria of students who came to the schools to check their results.

Bhavik Rasyara of Delhi Public School (DPS),who scored 97.8 per cent in the science stream,was the city topper. Asked if he expected this,he said,“I had been the top performer in my class and also received various scholars badges from my school. To know that I have scored the highest in the city is overwhelming.” Rasyara plans to pursue engineering from one of the IITs.

Akshay Gadre,who topped Kendriya Vidyalaya,Ganeshkhind,with a score of 94.4 per cent said the credit for his performance went to the teachers from his school. “My teachers helped me a lot. On an average,I only studied for one hour every day. However,my preparation for IIT also helped me a lot,” he said. Akshay now plans to pursue a dual degree (BTech and MTech) in Computer Science from IIT Madras.

Varun Gupta from Army Public School,Camp,scored the highest in the commerce stream. What worked for him were group studies and preparations in the last two months before the exams. He scored 97.2 per cent. “Rather than scoring the highest,scoring well was always my aim. Now I want to take up BCom at the University of Delhi,” said Varun.

Archana Srinivasan of Army Public School,Camp,who topped her school in humanities with a score of 96.2 per cent,said,“Preparation wasn’t just about cramming for a day. It was a whole year’s effort.” Archana plans to do a BA in Economics from Fergusson College.
