Actors Shruti Hassan and Imran Khan speak about their movie, the stunts and about their love for the city of Pune

Sporting fresh smiles actors Shruti Hassan and Imran Khan offer stark contrast to their serious action packed alter egos from their latest action flick Luck. In the city for the promotion of the film both of them are at ease as they talk about the movie, their scuba diving exams and their long tiring stunts that have left audiences, amazed.

Talking about the movie,Khan says,“The film revolves the around struggle for survival of a common man. Gradually as the plot unfolds my character who is pushed to desperation ends up doing stunts beyond the realms of the ordinary. From jumping off cliffs,to doing underwater sequences with sharks – I have done it all.” “Hopefully with aplomb,” he adds with his usual tongue-in-cheek style humour.

Adding to it Hassan says,“It was a bit more terrifying for me for two reasons, firstly this is my first film and secondly because I was working with already established bigwigs in the industry. However, thanks to Imran and the entire star cast of the movie they not only accepted me as an actor but also helped me when I was at my wits end and struggling with everything.”

The two actors have pulled off some daredevil stunts in the movie that includes jumping off a 1500-foot cliff and also a paragliding scene that will leave people gasping. “It’s hard to believe it now but all these stunts have been done by us. Stunt doubles were used only in one scene that required a trained skydiver to open the parachute in mid air, outside that we have done it all ourselves. In fact there were times when we both had sore muscles. Apart from that we even had to take a certified scuba diving exam both written and practical. It was only after we had passed them, that we were allowed to shoot the underwater scenes. It’s a whole different story that even then the scenes took almost 10 days to film,” adds Hassan with a laugh.

On his visit to the city and future plans Khan says,“I have come to Pune for the release of all my three films and I can say for a fact that the response is phenomenal. The enthusiasm of the city is what brings me back again and again. As far as future projects are concerned,Delhi Belly the shooting has been completed and it’s in post production.”

“More movies, more singing and more fun doing them is what I guess my future looks like. Right now it’s all about Luck and I am pretty excited for it,” Hassan signs off.
