TET: From November 11,every taluka to have form submission centres
Of the 32,000 forms that were filled online,12,500 forms have been submitted.
After serpentine queues began to be formed by aspirants of the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) outside Raja Dhanraj Giriji High School, the Pune Zilla Parishad has decided to open a form submission centre at every taluka from November 11.
“Till Thursday, around 32,000 TET forms were filled online. Teachers complained that they had to travel long distances to submit the forms and wait for their turn at the counter. Hence,we decided to have a sub centre in every taluka in the district,so that the workload could be easily managed. We have already directed the panchayat samiti’s education department about the move. Every samiti will have two counters and around three people to look after the form submission process,” said Mushtak Shaikh,Education Officer,ZP.
Of the 32,000 forms that were filled online,12,500 forms have been submitted. But,the officials feel the number will increase in the coming days. “We can handle around 4,000 forms every day. But,the work load has been increasing. On Friday,we gave hands-on training to all block education officers on how to scrutinise the forms. Our load will decrease by at least 70 per cent with the move,” said S Kurhade,ZP Deputy Education Officer.
“For Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad area, the same centre will be the same. Other areas will have new centres at their taluka office,” Kurhade added.
Last week, the centre was shifted from Zilla Parishad to Raja Dhanraj Giriji High School,Rastapeth, due to the unmanageable rush at ZP.
“The examination council had given us the task to carry out the process of form submission. We have been asking them to let us increase the centres from the beginning, but they didn’t budge. Finally, they have relented after seeing the rush. The last date to submit forms online is November 11 and the last date to submit the forms at centres is November 15. There will be two TETs for DEd qualified and BEd qualified candidates,” added a senior ZP official.
As per the Right to Education Act,2009,all states have to conduct the TET to recruit teachers to all types of schools. The test will be held on December 15. Both DEd and BEd candidates will have to secure 60 per cent marks to clear the examination. The forms are available on Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCoE) website http://www.mscepune.in.
