Software engineer, allegedly murdering her son and then committing suicide, has taken a twist. Police have now charged her husband with murder of their son. They had earlier cleared him after a primary inquiry.
On Sunday, police had alleged that Dipti Tejas More of Manikbaug killed her five-year-old son Arnav by slitting his wrist and then committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of their residential building located on Sinhagad Road.
Police had found a note which they suspected she had written.

The note said that she was taking the extreme step as “she could not get what she expected from life and fulfill the aspirations of others.”
However, Dipti’s husband Tejas, who is also a software professional, was named an accused in a First Information Report filed by the Sinhagad Road police on Monday.
Police had said that Tejas informed them that Dipti told him Sunday morning that she killed their son and herself did not want to live.
Tejas had added that when he rushed into the room where Arnav was, he was lying in a pool of blood. He came out and found Dipti had gone out of the flat and locked the door from outside.
Police had primarily believed Tejas’ story as the neighbours had opened the flat’s door which was locked from outside.
On Monday, Deputy commissioner of police (Zone II) Sudhakar Pathare said, “When we register an FIR, we cannot eliminate any possibility without concrete proof. When the boy was killed, both Tejas and Dipti were at home. As a part of the investigation, we would probe his role.”
Varsha Pawar, one of More’s neighbours, said that she was the one who went to open the door. The main door and the safety door were locked from outside.
She said that Tejas was stable enough to talk till he came downstairs and saw his wife lying on the ground.
He asked for water to sprinkle on Dipti’s face, before fainting of shock, added Pawar.
Tejas was later moved to the hospital, treated and later discharged.
