Industrial Manufacturer Eaton Corporation has announced their first batch of post-graduates under the company’s ‘Off-Campus Work-Integrated Learning Program’,launched in collaboration with BITS,Pilani. The program saw 56 engineers graduating the on-site courses in Embedded Systems and Design Engineering.

Fashion Show for the Differently Abled

The Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center (PRC),Kirkee celebrated Independence Day with a flair as members participated in a fashion show with ‘Colors Of India’ as its theme. Twelve soldiers from the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center,Kirkee were trained by Kirti Advani,choreographer,Dancing Curve. The fashion show was organised by JAIHIND,the apparel brand and featured the contestants in JAIHIND outfits. N. B. Gurung was crowned as Mr. JAIHIND,whereas Amol Boriwale and Faiyaz Alam were the runners up of the show.

Senior Citizens Expo

India Inc will organise an eight city expo for senior citizens across Bangalore,Pune,Mumbai,Ahmedabad,Goa,Chennai,Hyderabad and Delhi in the month of September. The expo will feature retirement communities,second career options from insurance and other sectors,travel and tour,personal care,hygiene,vision and assisted living devices. The Expo will be held in Pune on September 7 and 8 at Ganesh Kala Krida,Swargate.

Edison Day

Advik Hi-Tech,manufacturer of Auto Components,recently hosted ‘Little Edison Day’,a weekend workshop aimed at introducing kids to the exciting world of electricity and encouraging the spirit of exploration in science. The workshop featured live projects,a makeshift laboratory,quizzes,learning messages through cartoon films and games inspired by the works of the great scientist,Thomas Edison.

Rural Teachers training

A training camp focused on Positive Health Guides for rural teachers from over 40 schools from Pune District was recently organized by Rotary Club of Pune,Shivajinagar and Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital. A team of expert doctors including Dr Rajan Joshi,Dr Suneel Godbole,Dr Abhinay Darawde,Dr Aarti Palsule,Dr Sameer Kulkarni,Dr Anagha Dudhbhate,Dr Deepshree Sathe and Dr Shobha Rao briefed the teachers on detecting and reporting red flag signs in areas of child development — eyes,ear,speech,teeth,skin,anemia ,noticeable slow learning and noticeable physical deformity.
