Janwani recently organised a rally to spread the message of saving the environment and segregation of garbage. The rally started from Chandrakant Darode School and ended at Kamala Nehru Chowk and saw participation of 300 students and teachers of the school. Present at the occasion were Dilip Raut,Anil Rane,Shobhana Apte,Madhuri Sahstrabhude and Shalini Kanadalgavkar. “Saving environment is the need of time and we should teach our children the importance of environment from childhood itself,” said Kanadalgavkar. At the end of the event,Janwani coordinator Hementkumar Naik explained the atrocities of mixed garbage and what people can do to eradicate it,through the process of segregation and recycling.

A spiritual connection

A unique initiative was announced by Vodafone India to help lakhs of pilgrims undertaking the annual padayatra from Dehu to Pandharpur. Starting from Saswad,the firm deployed two ‘Vodafone Mobile Trucks’,which were equipped with mobile phone charging points,recharge vouchers and free calling facilities,that will travel with the Warkaris all through their journey to Pandharpur to help them remain connected. The firm had also launched a special VAS offering that will enable the customers to listen to bhajans,view a virtual aarati of the Lord at the revered Pandharpur temple,know about the history behind the Pandharpur yatra and the traditions of the Warkaris.
