Symbiosis initiative to provide health services in rural areas

As part of its Community Outreach Activity,Symbiosis will now provide quality health services in rural areas through its Family Doctor Clinic and Mobile Medical Unit. The unit was inaugurated on Monday by MP Supriya Sule.

As part of its Community Outreach Activity,Symbiosis will now provide quality health services in rural areas through its Family Doctor Clinic and Mobile Medical Unit (MMU). The unit was inaugurated on Monday by MP Supriya Sule.

A statement issued here said the main services will include examination and treatment of common diseases at concessional rates. There will be follow up check-ups,referral to specialist doctors for further treatment if required,camps by specialist doctors for cataract detection,gynecology camp,health awareness and health education programs,advice and counselling according to social,economic and family health and others.

The Symbiosis Family Doctor Clinic will remain open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 am and 6 pm. In its first phase,the MMU has planned visits to villages such as Rihe,Lavale,Nnande,Chande,Kolawade,Jawal,Kharawade,Pimpaloli and Andagaon.

Dr Rajeev Yeravdekar,Dean,Faculty of Health Science,Symbiosis International University,said the MMU will have emergency medical instruments such as ECG machine,nebulizer,oxygen cylinder,AMBU bag and instruments for gynecological tests along with trained medical officers,nurses and social workers.
