The sub-registrar offices in Maharashtra will remain open during the weekend from March 29 to 31 due to the high demand for document registration at the sub-registrar offices in March.
Authorities have decided to keep the sub-registrar offices open to ensure that people can complete their property registrations without delay. The extended office hours are being implemented to help achieve the registration targets for the financial year 2024-2025, said a circular by Udayraj Chavan, Deputy Inspector General of Registration (HQ Maharashtra) on March 24.
The decision aims to facilitate document registrations before the new annual market value rate charts, which comes into effect on April 1 every year.
Officials have been instructed to ensure that all sub-registrar offices are adequately prepared to handle the crowd. Those planning to register their documents are advised to make use of the extended working hours to avoid last-minute hassles.
