Students should treat recession as an opportunity: Natarajan

Bharati Vidyapeeth University’s Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship Development,Pune,recently celebrated its Annual Day function. Chief guest Dr Ganesh Natarajan,chairman,Nascom & CEO,Zensar Technologies,talked aboutopportunities in India during the global recession .

‘Due to the global recession every country was affected and trying to recover slowly. “In the last couple of months,around 32 lakh people lost their jobs and as per international organisations,this figure will be 45 lakh. But Indian companies are still recruiting people. So students should not be worried about employment. Students should encash the global recession as an opportunity and upgrade their knowledge,” said Natarajan.

Natarajan was speaking during the Annual Day of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development,Pune.

Nitin Nayak,director,IMED,Kapil Malhotra,Head,Wipro BPO, Deepak Shikarpur and M V Shitole were also present on this occasion.

Nayak spoke about the institute’s past achievements. He appreciated the contribution of students and faculty in arranging conferences/guest/ lectures/events/sports & competitions and winning awards in various competitive activities. Natarajan and Nayak later distributed prizes,trophies and certificaies for academic and other achievements. Students of IMED presented ‘Bridal Collection’ Fashion show at annual day event.

The NASSCOM chairman said by 2020 countries like the US,China and Japan would face a manpower shortage while India would have a surplus of million people and suggested that the institute should take initiative to train them.
