The Mundhwa police on Thursday arrested two relatives of the student who committed suicide on Wednesday and detained two minors for stone pelting and damaging property of Nutan Madhyamik Vidyalay run by the Sarthi Shikhan Prasarak Mandal in Keshavnagar. Chetan Bhalerao (17),a Class X student,had ended his life by jumping off a running train on Wednesday after his teachers allegedly beat him up.

The principal of the school and three other teachers who were arrested for abetting Chetan’s suicide were remanded in police custody till December 13.

The arrested relatives are – Hiraman Bhalerao (45) and Kesharbai Bhise (50). Minors Shubham jagtap (17) and Atul Bhalerao (16) have been sent to remand home. Devidas Patil,senior inspector with Mundhwa police station said,“The two arrested relatives were released on bail. Four of them pelted stones towards the school building at 12 noon . We immediately arrested them and produced them before the court.”

On Wednesday,police had arrested school principal Goraksh Bong (42),teachers Yusuf Mohammed Shaikh (41),Manoj Prasad Gaikwad (34) and Rafiq Akbar Shaikh for abetment of Chetan’s suicide. Chetan’s father Sunil,a labourer in Keshavnagar,had gone to the school in search of him when some teachers had told him that they had warned his son after he reportedly gave some chits to a Class VIII girl.
