Singer 2Blue and guitar player Claver,two celebrated musicians from the Indian rock circuit best known for their work in VAYU and Rust Angels,got together to form a band that they could call their own. With ex-Rust Angels drummer Trevor and Swastika bass player Dusty Ryan joining in shortly thereafter,the band has been rocking completely and ready to roll. For all the lovers of the rock band to be part event the band Zedde will perform at the Hard Rock Café,on March18.

Film maker Ashwini Abhyankar Ghaisass directorial debut short film ‘Ek Paus Haravlela’ (The Lost Rain) has won the best film award in the family/children category at The Indie Short Film Competition held in Florida,the US. The 13-minute film deals with issues of parenting in urban India. The recognition comes with a great feeling as this is the third award for the film in a very short span. Previously,the film has received awards in Carlsberg International Film Festival held in Nagpur and Brihan Maharashtra Marathi Convention held in Philadelphia in 2009. On both the occasions,film was adjudged second best in the competition, says Ghaisas. The movie is an attempt to unfold the inner world of a kid,who feels very lonely as his parents are busy in their respective careers, she adds. The film was screened in some of the film festivals in the country including Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF 2010) and Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF 2010). Special screenings were also held in International Youth Film Festival in New Delhi and at Bal Ranjan Kendra in Pune where it received accolades from the viewers.

The 15-day government-funded workshop for craftsmen of Tambatali concludes today. The event had brought together Tambat artistes,who were exposed to the variety in design and usage of copper vessels as piece of art. The workshop was organised by INTACH. The closing ceremony,at 4 pm at Kalika temple in Kasbapeth,of the workshop today will witness distribution of award certificates to the participants. Renowned architect and designer Shrikant Nivsarkar will be the chief guest and works of the craftsmen done during the workshop will be displayed.
