Draping it right
Responding to the aspiration of women who love to adorn traditional jewellery and attire,Shilpa Anand is showcasing a collection of Kolhapuri Saaz along with Rigveda – well known for its Paithani collection. Anand has created Paithani designs that complement the modern lifestyle and needs of an urban professional and college-going girls,without losing touch with tradition. Breaking the conventional sari draping technique,the exhibition has 30 different patterns like party wear from Paithani and even bags with Paithani fabric. The exhibition will be on at the Punyaee Hall till March 22 between 11 am and 9 pm.

European rendezvous
It was a meeting of all creative minds at the exclusive dinner hosted by Alliance Française de Poona,British Library,Max Mueller Bhavan Pune and NFAI to celebrate the inauguration of the 14th Eurpoean Film Festival in the city. As foreign and Indian delegates and guests mingled with each other at the rooftop of Hotel Deccan Rendezvous over a delectable spread put together by Ravish Arora,animated conversations on the film scene in india and Europe ruled the evening. Seen at the do were Pankaj Rag,director FTII. Vijay Jadhav,director,NFAI,Kajari Maitra,head,BCL and Michael Flucht,director,Max Mueller,actor Mohan Agashe,industrialists Firoz and Lila Poonawalla along with many others from the city’s cinema and art circles. Great start indeed.

Magic of the quill
A solo show of exquisite paintings by artist Ulhas Raikar is on display at the Bingk Art Boutique on Baner Road. Raikar has worked with crowquill and is displaying 30-odd paintings which have been worked on for years. With a detailed insight,the artist has also used ink and pencil along with water colours. Some of the series are on horses,Ganapati and Shankara with 64 yoginis. The exhibition is on till April 3 from 1pm to 6pm.
