Six arrested for illegal online betting on IPL 2025 cricket match

Cops found the accused persons allegedly betting on the IPL cricket match between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, through online applications like Cricline, Cricket live Line and CricBuzz, the press release stated.

Cops recovered four laptops, 18 cell phones and other items, all worth Rs 5,20,610 from their possession. Police booked the six accused under sections of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act and the Information Technology Act. Police said search is on for one more accused identified as Mukesh, who was involved in the illegal online cricket betting.

Assistant police inspector Somnath Panchal, the investigation officer said, a prima-facie probe has revealed that accused Rajwani was also booked in a cricket betting at Jabalpur. “Further investigation is on,” he said.

Meanwhile, the accused were granted bail by a court, police said.
