Singer Atif Aslam was in town recently to perform live at Corinthian Club,NIBM Road. He mesmerized the audience with chart busters like Kuch Is Tarah,Doorie ,Pehli Nazar mein,Rab Sacheya,Meri Kahaani and more. The heart throb also sung his cover of Gulabi Aankhein which got the audiences wanting more. The Pakistani singer performed with a steel black guitar used by the King of Pop Michael Jackson. His concert tour is aimed at promoting unity in music across India. He firmly believes that the language and the love for music trancends borders. Aslam recently collaborated with Slash,the legendary guitarist from Guns N’ Roses for a charity concert in New York. After the grand sucess of his song Pehli Nazar Mein,from Race,he is eagerly looking forward to the enchanting music of Race 2.

Book of Thrills

Crossword and Leadstart Publishing hosted a book reading session of the book ‘Incognito’,written by Lata Gwalani on July 14. The event saw the likes of journalist Harry David and Joe Pinto at Crosswork Bookstore,Pune,who read out excerpts from the book. The story revolves around the changes Anjali faces when she befriends four different individuals leading distinct lifestyles,finally building up a psychological thriller. Gwalani,a behavourial trainer by profession is amazed by the success of her first book and was equally humble in her thanks.

Tumbhi,an online platform for artists and art lovers,is organizing competitions like Paanch,Expressions,Nadaan Parindey,Sometime Somewhere which will showcase talents in script writing,photography,poetry and story writing. While five scripts from the script-writing contest last year were chosen to be produced as short films under the ‘Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd’ banner,two short films, ‘Shor’ and ‘Sujata’,were screened at the Indian Film Festival at Los Angeles.
