Alleging a land scam, the Shiv Sena has said the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, while framing the draft development plan (DP) for Tathawade village, had sought to convert 84 acres of the total 92 acres of government and semi-government land into a residential zone.
Shiv Sena MP Gajanan Babar and corporator Seema Savle said PCMC said the value of the land was Rs 1,000 crore.
Except for three smaller reservations,it has sought to lift reservation on land of around 84 acre in the village worth Rs 1,000 crore, they alleged. Seeking an investigation,Babar,Savle and other Sena leaders Tuesday registered their objection to conversion of government land into a residential zone by PCMC.
Shiv Sena leader Sarang Kamtekar said Tathawade is part of the Regional Development Plan of Pune District and was included in PCMC limits in 2009. In 2010,PCMC declared its intention to prepare a DP for Tathawade. PCMC general body passed a resolution to publish the draft DP calling suggestions and objections from citizens in February 2013, Kamtekar said.

Kamtekar said survey No 99 (almost 92 acres) in Tathawade was a public-semi public zone (designated for governmental and public purposes). Although the land of Survey No 99 is actually being acquired for the main premises of Mulshi Taluka Market Committee, most of it has been is converted into a residential zone in the draft DP by PCMC officials. The cost of the said land of as per market value is approximately Rs 1,000 crore.
He added: As per provisions of the published draft DP almost all land belonging to political bigwigs and prominent builders are free from reservations and are included in residential zone whereas reservations are proposed on lands belonging to common citizens and farmers. The Sena has submitted objections to the draft DP.
Kamtekar said the draft DP was ready to be placed in the general body meeting open to public on February 14,2012. There are copies of letters and draft DP duly signed by the then commissioner.
But the Draft DP was not presented in the GB until February 20,2013. In fact it was tabled not by regular agenda but under an urgency clause. The copy was not shown to corporators. Not enough time was given to study the Draft DP, he alleged.
