To address problems of sexual harassment against women at workplace,a seminar ‘Stop exploitation, molestation, abuse, assault’ was organised jointly by several institutes and companies of the city at Persistent Systems auditorium,SB road,on Saturday.

The six groups consist representatives from manufacturing, services (IT,financial services, banking and insurance) health care, hospitality, research establishments and educational institutions.

The group has met a few times since February to create structures, policies and processes, which will ensure zero tolerance against any misbehaviour with women, both at place of work and public places.

The overall concern and action points emerging from the deliberations of the working groups also captured unique aspects of their institutions.

A preliminary survey was conducted to assess the level of anxiety among women employees and also awareness of laws that protect them.

It was conducted on 4,000 employees (both men and women) in the service sector in Pune earlier this year.
