The Fashion Broadway, organised by FAD Academy and Blue Billion Group at The Westin, showcased collections of 25 young fashion graduates from FAD International. The event was divided into three segments on the lines of resort wear,Indian diffusion and the Broadway,Chicago. The resort-wear saw a mix of pinks, lavenders, nudes and other floral patels with a piece or two in burning orange and fiery red. This collection was inspired by the students’ trip to San Torini,Greece. The next sequence showcased metal and wood laden Afro-American art blended with traditional Indian drapes. The models walked the ramp to the live soulful music. Trendy Half dhotis in earthen colours was a successful experiment. The finale, inspired by the Broadway girls of Chicago was a fun and cheeky show. Dramatic goldens, sequenced greys and mysterious blacks ruled the ramp which overflowed with glitter and glam. The collection was flirtatious, naughty and playful. The objective was to give the gen-next designers a never seen before platform and encourage them to work hard towards meeting professional standards to enter the industry, says Founder,FAD International.
