Kalmadi school felicitates students

Academic year 2012-2013 of Kalmadi Shamarao High School began with the felicitation of students. The programme was organised at Shakuntala Jaganath Shetty auditorium on July 8 and was presided by Indira Parikh,director ‘FLAME’. Members of the management,heads of various sections of Kaveri Group of Institutes,staffs,parents and the students attended.

The school has been achieving 100% results for the past ten years. This year 60 students scored 90% and above,31 students secured 99/100 in science. The school also felicitated the highest scorers in Class V to IX in every subject as well as the silver medallists of Homi Bhabha examination and the rank holders of the scholarship exams. The school does not believe in severing its ties with the former students. Some of the students who have cracked IIT were felicitated too.

Principal Kamini Saxena spoke about the school’s performance. Students and parents shared their views about the school. In her speech,Indira Parikh said,“The students are the genius of today and tomorrow. The teachers,parents and the country needs to support you. If no one stands by you draw the inspiration from within. Have courage to walk a different path,take the storm,this will give you happiness.”

Students of Millennium School awarded

Meritorious students of Class X of Millennium School were felicitated by Shriniwas Inamati,advocate .The event was organised at the sports complex of the school last week. As many as five board toppers — Abhijeet Joshi,Rucha Tambe,Chinmay Markale,Adwait Joshi,Chinmayee Bankar— were felicitated at the function. Arpita Karkare,director,presided over the function. Teachers of Class X were also felicitated. Inamati said,“Discipline,temperament and attitude helps to achieve goals. Students should enhance communication skills for a successful career.” School topper Abhijit Joshi said,“Continuous efforts of the school,innovative teaching methods and internal examination pattern helped us a lot.”

PIS-Satara organises ‘Parivartan Drive’

PIS,Satara,organised a ‘Parivartan Drive’ on July 20 based on the theme ‘Green Satara Clean Satara’ and ‘Save and educate the girl child’. The event was attended by Mayor Sujata Raje Mahadik,Tushar Badhre,chief director,SBN channel,Harish Patane,president,reporter’s association,Jeevandhar Chavan (Adv.Head Pudhari newspaper) and PTA members,PIS,Satara. A palanquin procession was taken out by all the guests of honour and the PTA members under the guidance of principal SN Sahu and other staff members. Around 500 students from senior classes with band and lazim took part in the procession from Talim Sangh Maidan to Gandhi Maidan. The procession depicted Green lush Trees in Satara. Students carried placards and chanted slogans. The aim of PIS,Satara is to bring about awareness of environment issues and the importance of girl child.

For the last three years,PIS,Satara has been conducting various activities such as ‘Avoid Burning Crackers’,‘Save Girl Child’,‘Environment Issues’ etc to bring about awareness in the society,as per CBSE norms.

Weeklong celebration at sungrace School

Sungrace School welcomed the year’s festivities with great pomp and vigour. Entertainment such as skits,dance,music,dramas,devotional songs were presented at the event. It was a weeklong celebration which began with Guru Pournima. This was followed by the investiture ceremony in which the Sungraceites worked harder and strived for excellence. The deserving students were appraised and appreciated. The hand picked office bearers pledged their loyalty and sincerity towards the school and promised to be fair in every duty they perform.

Director Vijay Pillai,Trustee Geeta Pillai,high school principal,Dayavathi Pillai and primary school principal Prabhavathi Pillai graced the occasion with their presence. They also motivated and inspired students to be role models for other students and have clear conscience while performing their duties.

Followed by various other occasions,Sungrace School also celebrated Green Week as the theme for Tree Plantation Day where director and principals of Sungrace School took the lead in the yearly motto of ‘Each one Plant one’ by planting saplings on this day.

The students were all eager for the big day — ‘The Marathi Day’ celebrated on July 26 where plays,songs and dances describing the rich Maharashtrian tradition were put on the platter. The Marathi teaching faculty presented the entire programme in a traditional way. Welcoming the guests by the heart throbbing music of Sanai. The programme began by remembering lord Ganesha and which was followed by a medley of Marathi Lok Geet,dances,skits etc.

Muktangan students shine in scholarship exam

Eight students form Class IV and four students from Class VII of Muktangan school have secured scholarships at the Middle school and High school scholarship examinations held in March 2013.

Students were congratulated and felicitated by principal,Alka Hinge (Pre – Primary & Primary Section) and Anjali Khaniwale (Secondary & Higher Secondary Section) for their outstanding performance at the examination. The success of these students has added to the school’s achievements. The teachers who guided the students were also lauded by the principals for their efforts in preparing the students to take the examination. The students were guided by Rajashree Kakade,Shirin Akolawala,Sanjyot Damle for Middle School and Prajakta Kulkarni,Prachi Kolhatkar,Vidya Salehittal and Dipali Kelkar for High School.
