Sarhad to extend help to Assam

PUNE: Hak Brahmaputrechi,meaning the call of the Brahmaputra,a programme based on the current unrest in Assam,was organised by city-based Sarhad Foundation. The programme was held at Patrakar Sangh on July 29. Speaking on the occasion,Sanjay Nahar,founder,Sarhad Foundation,said,“All the important movements in the history of India have started from Pune and have been successful in bringing about transformation. This time,when Assam needs us,we from Pune plan to initiate a movement which will help,if not transform the situation in Assam. A team of Sarhad Foundation members will visit the state with aid.” A lecture on the background to the Assam unrest was delivered by Lt Gen (retd) Vinayak Patankar. The session was followed by a question-answer round.
