The Regional Transport Office has issued a release stating that 32 vehicles confiscated for non-payment of taxes and booked under various clauses of Motor Vehicles Act would be auctioned on December 9. The release said the auction would be held at the RTO office at Sangam bridge at 11 am.
The vehicles listed for auction include tourist taxis, small goods vehicles, trucks, buses and scrapped autorickshaws. The RTO had kept these vehicles at various locations including its office, Katraj depot of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), Shikrapur police station and Lonikand police station.
The RTO said that despite their attempts and appeals, owners of these vehicles did not turn up for these vehicles. The RTO, in its release, requested owners to approach it till the date of auction to claim the vehicles after paying the pending taxes.
The RTO displayed the list of vehicles that would be auctioned in its office. Those wishing to participate in the auction are expected to approach the RTO and complete necessary formalities before the date of auction.
The RTO, Pune had reminded autorickshaw owners and drivers in Pune and Pimpri Chichwad to renew permits of autorickshaws before the set deadline on Monday. The RTO also plans to release the number of auto drivers operating without permits and has announced strict action against them.
