Rs 9 lakh stolen from district co-operative bank

More than Rs 9 lakh was stolen by unidentified burglars who broke open the saferoom locker of the Pune District Co-op Bank’s Malegaon branch in Baramati taluka sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

More than Rs 9 lakh was stolen by unidentified burglars who broke open the saferoom locker of the Pune District Co-op Bank’s Malegaon branch in Baramati taluka sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning. A complaint in this regard has been registered by Sanjay Narayan Gaikwad,an officer with the bank. Baramati Taluka police said the employees had locked the bank on Thursday evening. On Friday morning when they came to the bank they found the locker broken and Rs 9.1 lakh missing. The cash was in bundles of Rs 100,50 and 20. Assistant police inspector S B Chavan is probing the case.
