Rs 9 lakh recovered from friend of man who lodged fake case

Pune police crime branch on Wednesday recovered Rs 9 lakh from the friend of accountant Shripad Ravindra Malpure who had complained a robbery on June 8,which turned out to be a fake complaint.

Pune police crime branch on Wednesday recovered Rs 9 lakh from the friend of accountant Shripad Ravindra Malpure who had complained a robbery on June 8,which turned out to be a fake complaint .

Malpure had complained that after withdrawing Rs 9 lakh from the Bank of India,Swargate,on June 8,two motorcyclist had intercepted him and robbed him of the cash at knife-point.

Investigation by Swarghat police revealed that Malpure had lodged a fake complaint,following which police arrested him on June 10 .

During further investigation,police found that Malpure had given the cash to his friend Vinod Sandipan Kashid (20) of Janta Vasahat. Police on Wednesday arrested Kashid and recovered Rs 9 lakh from his relative’s residence.

Investigation team was led by inspector Sunil Patil and assistant inspector Karbhari Handore.
