Rs 29 lakh robbed from Hinjewadi firm

A case of robbery in which thieves carried away Rs 29 lakh in cash from the office of a firm located at Blue Rich Township in Hinjewadi was reported on Monday.

A case of robbery in which thieves carried away Rs 29 lakh in cash from the office of a firm located at Blue Rich Township in Hinjewadi was reported on Monday.

Hinjewadi Police have registered a case and according to Police Inspector Satish Devre,the robbery took place at the administrative office of Flagship Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. From the information the cashier of the firm has given the police,the robbery took place between Saturday and Monday. The thieves appear to have entered the cashiers’ cabin after breaking the plaster of Paris (POP) ceiling.

Devre said,“The office is located in a single-storey building that houses the administrative section of the company. On Saturday,the cashier locked his cabin at 5.30 in the evening before leaving and had locked up all the cash in a cupboard. When he reached the office on Monday at 12 noon,he found the money missing.”

“According to him,the office has 47 cabins in all. He said the door of the cashier’s cabin had not been broken but the POP ceiling was found broken just above the cabin. Thieves entered from there.”

“After breaking the POP ceiling,the thieves broke the cupboard and fled with Rs 29 lakh. We have not made any arrest so far. We are speaking to all staff and also looking for clues. The case is being handled by PSI Surve of Hinjewadi Police Station,” he said.
