The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has received Rs 1.43 crore in the last three years for restoration of heritage structures in its jurisdiction. There are 369 heritage structures in the civic jurisdiction and budgetary allocation is made every year for their restoration, said municipal commissioner,Mahesh Zagade,in a written reply to a query by Shiv Sena legislator,Prithviraj Sutar.
He further said,Rs 95.96 lakh was spent on restoration and beautification of Vishrambaugwada,Rs 32.78 lakh on Nanawada,Rs 7.14 lakh on Kasba Ganpati Temple and Rs 7.74 lakh on Trishundya Ganpati Temple. The state government has sanctioned Rs 89.90 lakh for restoration of Kasba Ganpati Temple,Chaturshingi Devi Temple and the old Mahatma Phule vegetable market in Shukarwar peth.
In reply to a query on appointment of consultants on public transport system,the civic administration has clarified that it has spent Rs 2 crore for preparing public transport project reports for which five consultants were appointed. The civic body has paid Rs 43.50 lakh to consultants for high capacity mass transit road,Rs 30 lakh for Sky bus,Rs 7.41 lakh for Tramway,Rs 2.9 lakh for BRTS and Rs 1.26 crore for Metro rail.
