Role of society in policing stressed

Joint Commissioner of Police Ashok Dhivare has stressed the importance of society’s role in policing. “If each of us plays our roles properly and responsibily,there will be no need for us to approach the police,” he said at the annual social function and prize distribution ceremony of Pratibha College of Commerce and Computer Studies,Chinchwad.

Students of the college who excelled in fields like academics,sports,and various cultural activities received prizes which were given away by Dhivare and Krishna Kumar,MD Eaton,Ranjangaon. Stating that society itself was a big academy,Dhivare said to ensure peace in the society public help in policing assumed a significant role. Calling upon students to develop humane qualities,he said,”Teaching students to read the book is fine,but teach them to read the human,” he said. “Speak to everybody,do not label people as rich or poor,high or low and importantly keep your ego away,” he advised students.

In his address,Krishna Kumar explained the seven golden rules to become successful. On the occasion,Deepak Shah,CEO of the college,Pratibha Shah,chairperson,KES,secretary Vaishali Dalvi,principal Rajendra Kankariya,trustee Bhoopali Shah and Prof Jayshree Mule,among others were present.
