Mumbai team records 6-1 victory over Rajesh Pillay Academy

RCF continued their goal glut as they handed out a thrashing to Rajesh Pillay Academy in the third edition of the Late Devdas Shetty Memorial monsoon hockey league on Friday. RCF hammered six goals past Rajesh Pillay Academy,who could only muster one strike of their own. Rahul Deokar,Sankalp Raghav,Manpreet Singh,Ravi Pareek all scored a goal each for RCF. However,the star for RCF was striker Vijay Thapa. He recorded a brace,scoring both his goals in the second half,while generally making a nuisance of himself in the Rajesh Pillay Academy half. Ankush Kamble was the solitary scorer for Rajesh Pillay Academy.

In another match,Railway Boys Club played out a pulsating 3-3 draw against Vikram Pillay Academy. Jagdish Choudhary gave Railway Boys the lead,sounding the board in the 13th minute. Akash Khaire added a second,eight minutes later sweeping in a Choudhary pass. The two goals seemed to have woken up Vikram Pillay Academy,Prakash Pillay pulled one back in the 28th minute and Railway Boys went into the break with a 2-1 advantage.

In the second half,Rajeev Bhatkar restored the two-goal cushion for Railway Boys as he converted a Sanju Menon pass in the 40th minute.

However,Prakash Pillay again popped up,10 minutes later to reduce the margin. In the 52nd minute,barely two minutes after Pillay’s goal,Mayur Thakur equalized for Vikram Pillay Academy to ensure that both teams ended the game with a point apiece.
