Maharashtra ended day 2 of their Ranji Trophy Plate division match against Jammu and Kashmir on top thanks to centuries by Sangram Atitkar and Ankit Bawne here on Tuesday.
After ending day 1 at 67 for the loss of one wicket,Maharashtra scored 457 runs for the loss of four wickets at the end of day 2. Harshad Khadiwale and Sangram Atitkar put on a massive partnership to put their team well in front. Khadiwale was eventually dismissed on 73. Kedar Jadhav got off to a good start but was out for 28. Bawne came in next,putting up a marathon partnership of 189 runs to put the team in a commanding position. Atitkar was finally dismissed for 140 while Bawne remained unbeaten on 132. Rohit Motwani gave good support with a quickfire 42. For J&K,Arshad Nabi,Samiullah Beigh,Sameer Ali Joo and RB Dutta struggled hard to pick up a wicket each to peg back the opposition.
