The University of Pune is set to acquire ten acres of defence land near the Khadki gate of the university campus. The land will be helpful for expansion projects in its ambitious campus makeover plan.
The defence estate department has in principle accepted the proposal of the university and will give its land near the Khadki gate, said Vice Chancellor Narendra Jadhav.
The University of Pune has been working on the campus makeover plan for the last two years. The university has also made a provision of around Rs 130 crore in this years budget.
Jadhav said that he will meet General Deepak Kapoor in Delhi to discuss about the land. I will personally meet the chief of staffs and discuss about the land handover to the university, he said.
