At 10 degree Celsius, Pune touches season’s lowest minimum temperature

The temperature in Pune touched 10.8 degree Celsius on Tuesday morning, the lowest minimum temperature this season, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

IMD attributed the present dip in temperature to the presence of north and north-western winds and clear sky conditions that have helped in the cooling of the earth at a faster rate.
Other than Shivajinagar, the weather station at the National Defence Academy (NDA) recorded 9.6 degree, and Haveli recorded 9.5 degrees as the lowest temperature in the district. Other areas such as Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Chinchwad etc recorded higher temperatures in the range of 11-14 degrees.
IMD said the current temperature in Pune would continue for the next few days. The daytime temperatures have been on the higher side but rapid cooling at night has led to the chill factor setting in, it said.
