THE Shivajinagar court granted ad-interim anticipatory bail to a National Defence Academy (NDA) professor against whom the institution had filed an offence alleging that he had claimed physical disability by submitting forged documents.
NDA Vice-Principal Vinay-deep Singh had filed an FIR alleging that KC Tiwari had forged documents to get certain benefits. Tiwari’s lawyer Ajinkya Reddy said, “The court of Additional Sessions Judge has passed an order in the case and granted ad-interim anticipatory bail after an application was filed by us on his behalf.”
Reddy further said, “It is an act of revenge by the NDA and all allegations have been outrightly denied by Tiwari. The complainants have categorically and wilfully avoided testing the authenticity of the signature of all officials concerned at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, in disability certificates issued, dated February 16, 2009, to January 12, 2012. There has been inordinate delay in verification of the certificate and lodging a complaint and that itself is sufficient to throw the prosecution’s case overboard.”
“The NDA has grudges against Tiwari since he has filed and won many cases in the Central Administrative Tribunal against the institution. Even recently, a criminal case was filed and a process has been initiated against NDA officials at JMFC Court in Pune,” Reddy added,
