The Pune International Literary Festival (PILF) would be organised for the fourth consecutive year from September 2-4 at YASHADA on Baner Road. Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy will be the chief guest for the inauguration function.
This year, ‘Children’s Rights’ would be the theme of the festival, awareness about which would be created through street plays by NGO Save the Children.
An exhibition on British author Enid Blyton, known for her children’s books, would be one of the highlights of the festival.
“The primary objective of the fest is to act as a platform between authors and readers for their direct interaction and thereby contributing towards promoting the book reading culture, which has been losing its sheen due to various reasons,” says Manjiri Prabhu, Founder and Director, PILF.
A total of 122 acclaimed authors and creative personalities from India and abroad would be speaking at the three-day festival that will feature 63 sessions including panel discussions, workshops and book launches.
The topics of discussions include ‘The Changing Trends of Marathi Cinema’, ‘60 Years of Frankfurt Book Fair’, ‘Poetry from Heart to Heart’, ‘Women Relationships and Law’ and other contemporary topics.
PILF will have a series titled ‘Yours Truly’, where eminent speakers will share their thoughts and experiences about their personal and professional life.
