Pune: Educon meet held to support poor students

Educon has been launched to support deserving and financially weak students till their career point.

The Educon Committee of Jain Social Group International Federation (Maharashtra Region) recently conducted the “Educon Annual Meet 2016” at the Mahaveer Prathisthan. The meet was presided over by Sharad Shah, former president of Jain Social Group International Federation.

The founder-chairman of Jain Social Group Educon, Kamesh Shah, explained the purpose of Educon. Educon has been launched to support deserving and financially weak students till their career point.

In the last four years, it has supported 225 students with more than Rs 45 lakh, said Shah. “To maintain transparency, every year during the annual meet, the committee connects donors with students through Educon Card in which, all the detailed information, academic performance and the financial condition of the student is mentioned,” he said.

During the meet, secretary, Deepak Daga and the treasurer Sunil Shah presented the secretarial and the treasurer’s report.
